Roland M. Chaput, 81, passed on February 23, 2022. He was the husband of Anne-Marie (Cote) Chaput. They have been married for 57 years. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Raymond A. and Florida (Dulude) Chaput. He was a lifelong Central Falls resident.
Roland had been employed by the former Mine Safety Appliance of Esmond RI for 35 years before retiring In 1998. He served in the US Marines and then US Army for several years. Roland was an avid landscaper and playing cards was his passion. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved going to Maine for fried calms. Ronald was better known as "Pep" and was adored by all. He was always the one to make everyone laugh in the room. His lawn was his pride and joy, always had fresh, green grass that no one was allowed to walk on (haha). Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sandra Gilmore, her husband David, two sons, Roland Chaput, his wife Lori and Mark Chaput, seven grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Gilmore, Danielle, Tayla, Samantha and Christian Chaput and Aaron Navarro, a great grandson Kaiser Navarro, and a niece and nephew. He was the brother of the late Gerard Chaput.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 27th from 2pm until 5pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 28, 2022 at 9:30am in Holy Spirit Parish (St. Matthew Church), Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial with military honors will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
